About Me

I am a mother of a fun and busy pre-schooler and toddler and expecting another baby in April. I am a wife to Brandon Childs from Gunnison. We live in Centerfield, and are busy living life.

I love children. I have always loved children. I started babysitting at a very young age, and never stopped. I babysat all through high school, and worked in my high schools pre-school/daycare program. I graduated from high school, attended college for 1 year before taking a short break to volunteer in Romania in an orphanage, and work as a play therapist in a children hospital. This was an experience that taught me more than a new language and new culture; it taught me how important children are, how important our interactions are with them on a daily and hourly basis, and how much children can teach us about life.

After returning home from Romania, I went back to school got an AA from BYU-Idaho, followed by a BS from USU in Family, Consumer, and Human Development with an emphasis in serving in the community. I also directed all the courses I could to early childhood. This is where my passion is and this is where I love to be, with young children.

Throughout my college career I worked in a learning center and taught a busy group of 15 two year olds. I loved every minute of it. I also did an internship and worked full time in a in-home childcare of 16 children. I was the assistant to the owner, and learned all the ins and outs of in-home childcare in the 2 years I worked there.

After my husband graduated, we moved to Sanpete, where I got a job working for Centerfield Head Start as the Education Specialist. This job was great to teach me the logistics of running a large pre-school, and how to interact more directly with parents than I had up until that point in my other employments.

I quit after a year to stay at home with my newborn baby boy, and now am ready to start working again, ready to care for your children, ready to teach your children, ready to love your children.
